Do you want to gain strength/bulk, improve lean muscle mass? Improve your cardio or core?
Training for strength, power or bulk will employ slightly different techniques but they all rely massively on the right nutrition. Improving your cardiovascular fitness will also require the right strength & energy pathways to perform to the best for your needs. Heart rate training along with a rate of perceived exertion will get you through sessions. Your body will tap into different energy systems at different times for diferent training modes & most will feel that diifrence in cardio training, but it's just as crucial in strength training too.
You will get told by many that cardio does one thing, core another and strength another also. Truth is we use strength & core when doing cardio & some cardio when working on strength or power. It's not always obvious until you really concentrate on what your technique, style & intensity is.
Your Core (that lump of body from your neck down to your waist) strength is so important in everything we do but it's a real shame that we only associate it with the perfect flat tum or six pack.
